Daniel Taub, a Diplomat and a Professional International Lawyer

Daniel Taub, an Israeli diplomat, is of British origin and worked as Israel ambassador to the UK from 2011 to 2015. He is an international lawyer and an author, and he is currently working as a Managing Director at the department of strategy and planning at the Yad Hanadiv Foundation based in Israel.

Daniel Taub grew in the UK where he was born and enrolled for his secondary school studies at the Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School located in Elstree, Hertfordshire. He later enrolled in various higher learning institutions such as University College, Oxford, University College, London, and Harvard University to further his studies.

In 1989, Daniel relocated to Israel where he worked in the Israel Defense Forces as a combat medic before joining the IDF’s international law division as a reserve officer. Once he landed in Israel, President Chaim Herzog hired him as his speechwriter before joining the Israel foreign ministry in 1991.

In his entire career, Taub has held various diplomatic, legal and political posts in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of his country. He is an international law expert who has specialized in counter-terrorism and war laws.

Having been bestowed the role of a principal deputy legal adviser to the foreign ministry, Taub worked as a legal counselor to the mission of his country to the UN in New York and Geneva.

Daniel Taub participated in the Israel-Palestine peace where he positively influenced the numerous agreements that were reached by the two parties. He is also one of the members of the negotiation team in the Israel-Syrian peace talks.

He was the gang leader of the observer delegations from Israel who went to the international court to take part in the hearings on the security barrier of Israel.

In 2011, Daniel Taub was nominated to serve as the Israel ambassador to the Court of St James’s. Even though he received some objection from the ministry of foreign affairs union, citing that he was not experienced for that post, his colleagues applauded the appointment.

As a way to place great emphasis on trade and technology links, Taub partnered with Google and launched the Bizcamp start-up competition. It was a good idea since it was developed business and trade and it the competition was selected for the Grassroots Initiative Award. Within two years, UK-Israel trade had increased to $ 8 billion.

Additionally, Taub has implemented a clear focus on cross-cultural and interfaith activities. For this reason, he has been requested to teach Hebrew and bible lessons in Westminster Abbey and at the Church of England Synod.
